Utility pole

The life span of a utility pole is very much at the mercy of woodpeckers. Every morning, at least one red bellied male woodpecker will be drumming out his assertion that he is the head of the tribe! The damage that they do is quite apparent here and one day we shall lose power completely when the top goes and all the wires with it. This pole has already had the worst sawn off at the top, but its days are numbered.

Today is hot again but the rest of the week may bring some days in the 80s. Still no rain.
