A little bit of fluff

Japanese anemone seeds in a lightbox using the sun for the light. They are almost ready to fly.I did some practise with the focusing ring and zoom lens. All new to me.

The Historical Assn didn't receive an award at the volunteers night but we were treated to wine and a little food and we met so many other well deserving  volunteers. About 300 people there representing 30 odd groups in Nelson/Tasman region and those are only the groups that put their names in the ring.
Trustpower did give figures saying how much money was saved by government and councils with volunteers doing so much. On the other hand most volunteers said they got as much out of their work as they put in- mostly fun.
There were several categories from heritage to arts, health to youth. The latter the most important group of all in my opinion.
The supreme award represents the region at a National event. They were a group to do with history and had performed their WW1 reenactments at the Motueka Museum using local family names and histories.
They did say the number of people volunteering was on the rise but not in our group.
