NORTH COAST 500 ROAD TRIP - DAY 2

After a great start to our trip yesterday, today we are heading to Ullapool and the route takes us over the Bealach na Ba . Unfortunately the weather was a bit on the wild side and a few riders decided to turn back at the first hairpin bend. The visibility was very poor as we were above the cloud base and our visors were useless as they misted up even when opened slightly. However, the rest of us pressed on and we were rewarded with beautiful views as we came back down below the cloud level on the other side of the pass. We stopped at the Applecross Inn for lunch where Steve ordered these delicious looking langoustine and I just couldn’t resist snapping them  before they were devoured. I opted for seafood chowder which was also delicious.

The weather cleared up and we enjoyed some beautiful scenery en route to Ullapool where a Hawaiian Party got underway (see extras).
