Fungus

One of the things I've planned for my retirement is to run or walk in fairly local areas I don't really know. This morning, rather dull with occasional sun or drizzle, I decided to have a run in some community woods.
It ended up a bit longer than intended as I mislaid myself in the wood and couldn't find the way I'd gone in - but I did escape eventually.
This very large fungus was growing low down on a tree.
More time in the garden in the afternoon as the rain didn't come as promised.
