Internet

We have had real problems with our internet for some time.  At times the speed is quite good but it keeps dropping the connection which means we can't connect to the internet.

We have had to do lots of tests,  disconnecting equipment,  changing cables etc as requested by our ISP.   Despite the fact that our telephone  gets a regular but intermittent crackling noise and the router shows loads of errors when this noise is on the line, BT say they are unable to detect any problems and it has taken weeks to get BT to agree to come out and check it.   They make all sorts of veiled threats about how much it will cost us if BT can't find a problem however I have made a recording of the crackling noise on the line to replay to them when they come out on Thursday.

In the mean time there is activity around our new fibre cabinet at the end of our road.  The engineer tells me we should get super fast broadband very soon as his job is the final link.  We are also apparently listed as high priority - not sure why.

By the time we get fast broadband I expect the rest of the country will have moved on.
