Ring the bells that can still ring

Sand martin over the Eamont.

Every so often I get to walk to work when we have the occasional training day or meeting over at Redhills. As the crow (or sandmartin) flies it is no distance but involves crossing the fields down to the river, crossing the bouncy bridge and over more fields. A great way to start the day, even if it did take all morning for my trousers to dry. It is always a curious feeling to arrive back home again, knowing I have travelled away, crossed turbulent waters, climbed stiles, crossed barbed wire fences and various barriers to other lands and returned home - free to roam.
Whilst away I got a chance to think a lot and the day was pretty much all about this.

The Sand martins seem to have returned after much of the river bank nesting sites were washed away in the floods.
