Downy preeners

I had a short stroll in Christchurch Park on my visit to Ipswich this week to check on the progress of the Canada geese hatched in April and found them almost fully fledged but still with traces of down on their heads and necks, preening happily beside the lake and not at all concerned by my attention.

Today's extra photo: another of the young geese plus a flashback to April this year shortly after hatching.
