Popeye the Scarecrow Man

The charming north Ayrshire village of West Kilbride plays host to a crowd of scarecrows who descend annually to provide a festival. Many locals and shop owners make scarecrows to decorate the streets and verges, creating dozens of quaint and easy photo opportunities (the subjects smile a lot and rarely move). Here Popeye continues to woo Olive Oyl in a pastoral setting opposite the Cherry Orchard café, whose owners created this. A simple point-and-shoot photograph with my pocket camera set on automatic.
