WHAT

.... a day........

1. Katie got up and did an hour's music theory and clarinet.
2. Katie cycled to a piano lesson, where she was absolutely brilliant and concentrated so hard, did fabulously and was extremely excited to have new stickers for her chart.
3. Katie cycled to school ready for Sports Day.
4. SPORTS DAY 2016! She did fab. I've chosen her doing the hurdles. This is actually a race she didn't place in, but it's one she loved taking part in. The extra of her sack race is rather great because last year she was very worried about the sack race and this year she placed in it! She came first in the hoop race. On the field she got golds for javelin plus both long and standing jumps and some bronzes. Her team came 4th overall. She was delighted to be in a team with her lovely friend Lydia from y2.
4. She cycled to her clarinet lesson. We arrived and B had timed it so that the tea was brewing as I walked in & a bowl of homegrown strawberries (that Katie had nurtured) were waiting for Katie. She did really well at her lesson. She ran up to B's clarinet and asked to hold it again because she wants a big one. She showed us that she can do the speaker key. She has two concerts on Monday, plus a thumb rest and sling are arriving so we're not showing her hers until Tuesday. But it was good to see her so excited before she even knew one of her own is a possibility.
5. She cycled home.
6. She did an extra long ballet class - including a rehearsal of her and BalletBuddy's special scene that they're going to be doing to open the whole ballet show! They are very excited.

Miss S said after class that a few of Katie's jumps had been a bit lazy today. She was forgiven after the day had been explained! We take her friend home on a Thursday now that I have the car again, so the two of them were very giggly on the way home. But she soon tucked herself up in my bed and we only just managed a cuddle together before she fell asleep.
