Baby Crocs

It's been a lovely warm and sunny day :)

Up early to meet the bus pick up and off we set.  Today's tour was off to the Daintree rainforest.  The day started with a cuppa of local grown Daintree tea and then to catch a ferry down the Daintree river.  We saw a while hush of wildlife along the river banks and trees, from crocodiles, crabs and numerous birds, kingfishers, herons etc :)  Met up with the bus again and deep into the forest.  We stopped at various look out points before lunch in the forest, which was steak.  After lunch, we were lucky enough to see a male Cassowary and juvenile in the wild, such rare birds and on the endangered species list.  Next stop was Cape Trebulation where Captain Cook landed in the 1700s.  On the way back, we stopped at Mossman Gorge and met some aboriginal tribes from the area.  What an amazing day and tour.  A quiet night in writing postcards.

The wildlife was utterly stunning today and loved every bird and mammal I saw.  Too many photoa to choose from but think my favourite of all were the baby crocs.  Their mother wasn't far away but she's used to the river boats passing by.  They are just so peerie, can hardly think they'll grow to be huge monsters of the future.  I spotted three peerie crocs here, along with a peerie red crab.  Taken along the river banks of the Daintree river, Queensland.  I've added a few extra pics of other finds today, including the Cassowary and juvenile, snapped from the bus window.
