We Will Remember

I saw these soldiers this afternoon in the city. They marched silently away down the street.
They were commemorating the centenary of the Battle of the Somme, where nearly 20,000 British Empire troops lost their lives on the first day alone. Apparently groups like this appeared all over the country today.
One of them handed me a card.that said

Lance Corporal William Dudley Bezer

London Regiment (Queen Victoria's Rifles)

Died at the  Somme on 1st July 1916
