The Yorkshire Hotel

Having had another day of dire weather (grey skies and heavy showers), I wasn't too adventurous in coming up with today's blip.
I thought I would present you with the frontage of one of Harrogate's fine old buildings. This one, the Yorkshire Hotel, is under new ownership and has just had it's scaffolding removed after several weeks of refurbishment. I'm not sure what work has been done, but it looks in a better state of repair now it has had some TLC.

We tend to take some of our old buildings for granted, rarely pausing to appreciate their grandeur. It's a great shame the building always has a row of cars parked in front, preventing one from taking a photograph which could do better justice to it.
The colour of the sky was warning of the heavy shower which came soon after taking this image.
