They shall not grow old....

Tonight we took the children from the Friday Feeling club down to the local war memorial, it's recently been cleaned and the garden of remembrance tidied up a lot, So on the eve of the battle of the Somme it was blessed by the vicar of St Mary's and the preacher at the Methodist church. There was a good contingency out from local people and the British Legion, plus local councilors. Two of our children read out poems by children from local schools. After the service and laying of wreaths, our children laid 2 small bunches of flowers but attached to them were the poppies and white doves they had made last week and written little phases of remembrance on, Pat the leader had laminated them so they wouldn't get wet. You can see a couple of doves on the nearest one.
After the walk back to the Chapel they were treated to chips see Extra Photo which they all thoroughly enjoyed.
