Straw stalactites at White Scar Cave

We stopped at White Scar Cave on our way home from Malham. It's a remarkable place to visit, and the tour concentrates more on the interesting geology than on silly names for the formations (although they do have some of these).

The long walk through the cave is fun too. For much of the way you walk along a grid over a stream that flows through the cave. There are a couple of sections with low ceilings - hard hats are provided - and the walk is punctuated with the frequent "pock" sound of hats hitting rock.

My blip is of straw stalactites in ultraviolet light. These form when water runs down a hollow tube inside the stalactite.
