In the Zone!!!!

After what was meant to be a  quickie into town to do some groceries....took about 1 1/2 hours - got home and put the music on and off i went.   Did 2 of this scene...this is the second one, see the first attempt in the extras.  I wanted to push my edge with a different palette on the 2nd attempt....I feel comfortable using these colours in abstract paintings, but still hold back when it comes to doing an impressionistic image of a landscape.   anyway, feel pretty happy with this one....maybe onto the 3rd!!!

Had one of those wild 'bumping into' experiences!   Almost 20 years ago, a Publishing group from Toronto came to Muskoka (where i used to live and work), to put out a book to celebrate the artists on the Muskoka Autumn Studio tour.   Just managed to find a link to the book on Amazon....Originals.   Anyhow, i was in the library and Elizabeth Kerr, the main publisher walked in!!!   I don't know if i would have recognised her if it hadn't been for the fact that she emailed me about a month ago, telling me she'd be on Cape Breton Island and was thinking about another book!!!   but having not seen each other for almost 20 years, it took us a moment to see the younger one in each other!  so that took up about 1/2 hour while we chatted.   She'll come up next week for a visit!  So cool!
