Common Stump Brittlestem Fungi

Had two long walks in the  park today, one in the morning, the other in the afternoon. Didn't take any pictures in the morning and nearly didn't in the afternoon. Saw this fungi when I was almost back at the car. 
I don.t know who gave many of the fungi their common names, but they seem to be the first one that came to mind, don't exactly roll of the tongue. I much prefer  the Latin names, although they keep changing these as science advances. This one is currently called Psathyrella piluliformis.
