Avoncroft

Visited the Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings in Bromsgrove.
England's first open-air museum, it opened to the public in 1967 and houses over 30 buildings and structures which have been rescued and rebuilt in rural Worcestershire.

Main - a typical West Midlands 'Post Mill'. The entire upper structure (the buck) pivots on a central wooden post and can be turned around so that the sails face in to the wind. It's fully operational, but sadly wasn't in action today. But Poppy was still impressed!
Extra 1 - an old Co-Op building is now the Tea Room
Extra 2 - Town House, late 15th century, formerly lived in for 400 years
Extra 3 - a 1946 Prefab. My Mum often talked about living in one; was really nice to actually see one.
