Scare deer?

This is a really pretty backyard garden.  Lots of vegetables, some annuals, perennials and a deer decoy?  I have seen these deer in people's yards, I think they use them to practice hunt (I don't understand it), but never in a garden though there are a lot of little critters that can get to the goodies before the humans.  

A beautiful dry and sunny day.  Got lots done around the yard and garden.  
A little barbecue tomorrow with Logan and Josie and Ben coming later after work.
