Marooned

We spent this afternoon marooned on St Mary's Island at Whitley Bay. We walked across the causeway to the island just before high tide and stayed there for a 6 hour workshop until the tide went out again. The only people on the island were the other participants and workshop leader plus 3 people doing some work while there were no tourists around.

As the lighthouse is no longer functioning the inside qualifies for Derelict Sunday.

Having walked up to the top of the lighthouse twice during the afternoon plus plenty of other walking and clambering over rocks I am now absolutely shattered. I should sleep well tonight.
