Calves on Hanworth Common

This afternoon we spent an hour or two sorting out our caravan and giving it its annual buffing. It's a much loved little aluminium box on wheels that we bought well over ten years ago for a hundred and fifty quid, when we decided that sleeping at ground level in a tent in winter was getting too chilly and demanding for our aching bones. Since then it has seen us through a couple of dozen camps on the field with our friends and at least half a dozen folk festivals in Cambridge. Next week we are taking it to Ely for another folk festival where a friend of ours and his band are playing a ceilidh and sharing the bill with Heidi Talbot  and Dougie MacLean, among others.
Later on we went for a cycle ride. The fields are lush and green and there are some young cattle on Hanworth Common, one of which was very friendly and curious.
