Sunset gondola ride

We finally had a ride on a gondola.
So glad we did and that we chose to do it late in the day as the sun was going down. The canals were quiet and it was very calming. We felt blessed and thoroughly chilled afterwards.
We were chatting with the gondolier about a previous trip we'd had when they were filming Casanova with the late Heath Ledger, and he was an extra in the film! His family have always been gondoliers and his family crest is shown here - he said I was the first person to mention it in all his years!!
A great last night treat. We'll be sorry to go :-(
