An Artist's Life

Whoah!

Not what you like to see when you're in the middle of Glacier Park. The man was a park employee trail-riding on the park;s west side with his cousin. Evidence shows he was at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a bear with cubs crossing the trail. The bear will not be destroyed because it was an unavoidable incident and she didn't stick around for dinner. You don't mess with a mama grizzly. It's only the 10th death since 1910 and the first since 2001. There are maulings, bitings and slappings every year, but no deaths. Just interesting scars and stories.
The EXTRAS show some of the plein air paintings that were created on the spot. The second one is MK's "Never Laughs Mountain"; said to be named after a charm-free Blackfeet maiden who ended up being a chief with 5 to 9 husbands....Blackfeet legend as told by Chief Earl Old Person.
The third is the art crowd now being the music crowd listening to the Andre Loyd Band's brand of hot blues.
