On The Beach

Vancouver, Day 3

Another glorious hot and sunny day so we took the opportunity to go for a meandering walk along some of the 17 miles of trails in Stanley Park, before heading to the seawall and walking back along it to the West End where we moseyed up Davie St in search of lunch. We found it at a Mexican street food joint called Los Amigos. Great veggie tacos! After lunch we stopped off for a refreshing iced coffee/chocolate and, whilst on Davie St, we just had to call in at the fabled Little Sister's bookstore, Vancouver's home of LGBT literature. I couldn't resist investing in a couple of magazines and a book - although I'm trying to resist buying too much while I'm here!

After a short break at home to pick up swimming stuff it was back to the beach for another dip. The sea was rather more choppy than yesterday and I absolutely loved it!

It was rather more calm when I took this picture earlier today and this dude wasn't having much luck finding decent waves to ride... Still, he gives me a chance to link to a song by another great Canadian dude, Neil Young www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKgj1FNToWY

This evening, Virginia and Eric suggested going out for Indian food as they wanted to check out A Taste of India on Robson St, which turned out to be an excellent decision!

Fully sated, it was time to head home for an early-ish night and a chance to finally get started on my book club read for this month, Lisa McInerney's Bailey's Prize award winning 'The Glorious Heresies'.
