Looking down the Teign Gorge

Today three of us were on a walk catching up on Stage 6 of the Two Moors Way, a walk that our group had completed last week.  An interesting walk starting from Chagford Bridge and wandering along the River Teign, across meadows and and up a steep hill towards Castle Drogo.  Here we walked along Hunters Path with spectacular views across and down into the Teign Gorge, see blip.  At this point the steepness of the gorge and the rock outcrops reminded me of parts of the Blue Mountains in Sydney on a very much reduced scale of course. Then the path crossed the top of Sharp Tor and headed steeply down to Drewsteignton.

After lunch we ended up crossing the A30 and then headed to Hittisleigh before tramping along the road to Binneford Cross where our route finished.  In all we did about 11 miles including the walk back to the car parked some way from the end point.

A tiring but enjoyable day with some spectacular views.
