Concorde- free flight

Among all my key rings this one is rather special.

It’s a free one I was given after a flight on Concorde.

How come? Well
Many years ago as a journalist I was among a bunch who were flown to the south of France for the day (those were the good old days of journalistic freebies!) for the launch of British Airways new uniform.

It so happened that there were , not one, but two Concordes flying back empty from Nice that day so instead of returning  on a standard British Airways flight we came back by Concorde.

The first we knew of the treat in store was when we boarded the bus at Cannes and found Concorde tickets on our seats.

I remember the jolt when we broke the sound barrier- travelling at 1,532 mph as it reached Mach 2.

So thanks to Skeena for organising Mono Monday.

It’s brought back some very lovely memories. Happy days!
