Home now and the beetle larvae have all become real beetles.  We decided to give them some fresh dirt and beetle jelly.  My wife hid in another room in case they took flight.  They did.  They're very hard to prise off T-shirt fabric.  One landed on the light fitting.  One inside a wellington boot.  The kids loved it.  Anyway it looks like there are more than ten of them and at least 6 males.  Watch this space
