Letting Details Slip
If you go large you can see that the bottom óf the window decoration has cracked and has subsided a bit. Hopefully you can ignore that just to enjoy all the detail they put into decorating a window. Detail that you can't see from inside.
I find it somewhat sad that these old buildings don't seem to be all that well protected - despite there being Denkmalschutz which works a bit like listed building status in the UK but it is hugely complicated in the way that a German bureaucracy loves to be.
This is another detail from the pretty bits of Dotzheimer Straße. I had to take it from this angle because there is a cable that crosses the street in front of it and I really did want just the window.
My day was spent analysing why things worked one way and not another. If you want to know more about profile variables, do let me know. Maybe now you can understand a bit better why I go off looking for beauty elsewhere.
Good news about the QSM - the first operation was a success and she can see the world much better. Here's hoping that the second one is exactly as effective (next Monday). She'll be needing her sharp eyes as we start on this first of this year's mushroom hunts (we're just starting into Chanterelle season).
