The smell of success

My football team "West Ham United" has been going through a major 're-branding' the last few months.
After 112 years we are moving into the Olympic Stadium and have redesigned our club badge.
It has been greatly simplified. The old badge featured a castle (Our old ground was the 'Boleyn Ground' built on the site of The Boleyn Castle) and was impossible to draw!!
This badge features a pair of Hammers and the word 'London'.
The Hammers represents West Hams history.
Many people think 'The Hammers' come from the 'Ham' in West Ham.
It does not.
West Hams history originated from a club called "Thames Ironworks" who formed in 1895. Thames Ironworks were shipbuilders on The Thames Docks and their badge featured the crossed Hammers which were the tools of their trade.
As the club grew the owners decided to turn professional, and move it away from being just a works team. In 1900 the club became "West Ham United" after the area in which they played, "West Ham".
The 'London' on the badge is a clever (I think) marketing toy.
The club are based in the East End of London, with a magnificent new stadium. As you walk to the ground through the Olympic Park the Landscape offers great views of Canary Wharf and the City of London.

I just hope this new aftershave smells of 'A hint of success' rather than the stale ol' smell of an East End pub !!!
