Mainland...

Awake early.

Slowly started packing up our crap -  damp, muddy clothes gathered and shoved in a plastic bag, and everything else squeezed back into the rucksack.  We headed to the tearoom/waiting room/shop area, as a hot drink was needed, as well as something other than a cereal bar for brunch.  We peaked too soon, so waited, in the rain, for an hour, for the tearoom to open.  It was worth it.

Once we'd filled up, we headed back to the tent, as the rain had stopped, and we were able to take the tent down and pack it away.

Then it was back over the burn via the stepping stones, one last time, to wait for the ferry back to the mainland.  There were many broken people on our ferry.  Always a sign of a good weekend.

We will definitely be back. Eigg is a beautiful wee island.

Johnny and Kate from Lost Map Records put on a great weekend of music.  The third year of Howlin' Fling Festival was fab.  Our first, but hopefully not our last.

Once back on the mainland, we headed to the car, removed the waterproofs, changed out of the sheep shit covered walking boots and drove the couple of hours to Oban, to stay with Iain's folks (and have a hot shower, our first in a few days).  God, that shower was needed!
