Reflections

In our quest to sample all the local (within a 30 mile radius) homemade ice cream stands in the area, Jon and I visited a stand.  There happened to be an antique auto show across the street in a very picturesque field.  I wish I could say what this car was. It was somewhere around late 40s/early 50s.  You can tell I'm not a car person.  At any rate, the highlight was really a 90 year old gentleman who was sitting next to a 1950 Studebaker (see extras) that he had purchased new for $2122.  He had the original bill of sale!  He was charming and sweet even if he did repeat the same story 3 times in 10 minutes.  Apparently his sons took his license and keep the car in tip top condition and take him out for rides.  He was a delight.

I added a few others cars just because they are in such beautifully cared for condition.  Check the dovetailed edges on the wooden steering wheel.  So beautiful if not mechanically advanced.

Many thanks to youoregon1 for continuing to host Abstract Thursday and to even provide a definition and guidelines today.
