St. Edward the confessor. Romford

The church of St Edward the Confessor is located in Market Place in Romford.
There has been a religious building on the site since 1177 with the current structure dating from 1849–50.
The first construction was a small chapel and was the first such religious building to be built in Romford, then known as Romfort.
The building of a new church on the site was initiated towards the end of the 14th century, and was completed in 1410.
The current structure dates from September 1850.

Romford Market can be seen to the left of the photo, and The Brewery shopping centre to the right.

I took this photo whilst doing dome surveying work on a building behind.
