Home Sweet Home

This is the front door to Mary's house.  Her home was my home for 3 nights and 2 days.   She and her husband, Jerry, are marvelous host and hostess.  Thank you, so much, for welcoming into your wonderful, warm home.  One of the extras is Mary's feeder, with a landing in progress!

Day 4: Road Triip.  I drove 542 miles today, left Mary's at 8:13 and got into Gettysburg at 8:40pm.  The traffic between Charlotte, NC and where Rt 81 connects was very heavy, with the speed of travel being between stop and 17mph.  This went on about 150 miles and delayed me 5 hours.  Course, it didn't help there was one truck accident, leaving the tractor trailer demolished and the driver dead.  Neither did the camper in the Blue Ridge Mts which jack knifed across 3 lanes help, either.  (See extra, not a very good pic, but it tells the story)
But,  the best part, is I am in Gettysburg, Pa tonight.  What a cool place.  The actual town of Gettysburg is full of historic buildings, narrow streets, odd traffic patterns preceded by fields fenced in with crossed logs and split rails.  While reaching the Quality Inn, I drove by the National Cemetery here, and it was very awing and humbling, remembering the blood that was shed here for freedom and a country united, under one flag.
As an aside, it is also Bike Week.  There are thousands of motorcycles and their hot Mama's running around.
This is shaping up to be an amazing and unique trip!!!!
