Breakfast with the Bar Mitzvah Babe.

Today Dror, for who's Bat Mitvah I've come over for, and her mum took me out for breakfast. Afterwards they had a few things to do connected to the event later this week, so I went off to do my 'stuff' and we met up later.

We got home with just enough time for me to quickly shower before the men's final at Wimbledon began, which everyone was kind enough to allow me to watch.

By the time it ended it was dinner time here, but Dror was rehearsing and her mum was studying, so it was me, two of the sisters, Lior and Sha-Ked, their dad and a little friend of Sha-Ked's called Gaia. She is of Ukranian and Morroccan decent, and not a bit shy, so we had an entertaining mealtime answering her questions about me - I say we, as I was letting Sha-Ked answer her queries .. " well, mum and dad adopted Leah before I was born ... ". Actually, I'm about 10 years older than them and we're just really good friends, but I have been absorbed into the family. I was touched that she sees me as one of the family though, initially introducing me as ' a cousin '.

After dinner their dad had to go to town ( shops open late here ) to look for a shirt for the Bat Mitvah and Sha-Ked went off to Gaia's house for a sleep over, via grandma's house where she was trying on her dress for the occasion too.

That left me with Lior, so I just let her play her videos on her tablet - mostly about baking cakes, as she very much enjoys them.

Sha-Ked and Gaia came back 10 mins later and asked me to escort them to Gaia's, so off we all trooped, but it turned out that Lior and I were only needed for the first part of the walk incase there were snakes - I am the last person to depend on for that and the first one to run away!!

Anyway, we made it past the dodgy area ( and back! ) ok, and they finished the last bit by themselves.

Lior is now being put to bed by her mum and I need to find my other friend to see if she's up to our planned day out tomorrow ... Watch this space!

PS I'm writing Sha-Ked instead of Shaked so you can get the pronunciation right! Her name means almond, as there are quite a few little almond tress about here.
