A Smeared Dagger Moth and a Groundhog

This little guy was attached to a top of a reed in a swamp at a nearby park. It was at an odd angle and couldn't get a clear shot. So I found a long stick, coaxed it off the reed,  held the stick in the air,  snapped some photos, and then transferred him back to his original spot.  

About thirty minutes before I took this picture,  I was looking up in the trees in search of eagles and osprey.  I heard a woman whisper from behind telling me to look right in front of me.  This juvenile ground hog was about 5 feet from me standing on his hind legs checking me out!  See today's extra photos.
