Taking aim

It has been a day of mud, deer and pigeons. Toyota staged a driving event for its new Hilux pickup on a vast private estate in Buckinghamshire, spread across some 5,000-plus acres. It is a renowned centre for shooting.

After a morning of road driving, there was an hour-long off-road route around the estate, fording rivers and tackling @muddy ascents. Much of it was in forest terrain with the occasional fallow deer dashing across.

Then, for light relief, some clay pigeon shooting. Can you see all the pigeons in the photo? All that orange debris on the ground is shattered clays.

In the midst of the estate is a beautiful house that is a familiar backdrop in many films, including Pride and Prejudice, and also the famous scene from Notting Hill where Julia Roberts is on a film shoot in period dress and Hugh Grant unhappily eavesdrops on her conversation with a co-star.
