Homage to the Bechers

A cement plant on King Street in Northampton, analogous to the industrial subjects that Bernd and Hilla Becher photographed systematically beginning in 1959.  Based in Düsseldorf, Germany, they pursued a rigorous repetitive style that was highly influential.  (The previous link has a good selection of images; here's the Wiki page.)

I drive past this plant frequently and have envisaged it as a potential blip for a long time.  But today I walked past (to fetch my car at Firestone further up the street, where they'd worked on its AC), and took the opportunity.
