Tournesol

We drove to Chinon today which is a lovely medieval town with a chateau and a fortress on top of a big hill overlooking the river.  We walked up to the Chateau, which was tiring as it was a very steep climb, and once at the top we saw that there was a lift!  We didn't actually go inside the chateau, but it was worth going up there to see it as well as the amazing view looking over the town.

Lucy recommended a restaurant which is in the Michelin Guide called L'Ardoise, so we booked a table for lunch.  They had a Menu du Jour which was €15 for three courses, and the food was amazing!  Then after lunch we took a slight detour home and went to a big Brocante where we found some more interesting things to buy for the 'palace'.

On our drive to Chinon we passed more sunflower fields which were in full bloom.  So It was an 'Alan, stop the car' moment so that I could blip them.  They're such a wonderful sight!

Anyway, the hot tub is calling, bye for now!

I've put a few shots of Chinon in my extras, together with one of a dragonfly who quite happily posed for me!
