Steam engine

A side lever steam powered engine built for the paddle steamer P S Leven in 1821.
The PS Leven was a wooden paddle-boat built in Dumbarton and was owned by the Dumbarton Steamship Company for most of her working life.
The engine was presented to the town in 1877, and was moved in 1984 to its present position outside the Scottish Maritime Museum.
