Oh lord, it's hard to be humble

Found myself with some time on my hands and took the opportunity to take a look round the grounds of the parish church in Pencaitland.  A very pleasant spot, especially with the sun shining. 

I was quite tickled by this huge cross, by far the biggest monument in the churchyard.  Perhaps not surprisingly, it's dedicated to some long-gone local toff.  But it seemed a bit ironic that the inscription on the other side suggested he was all about meekness and humility.
