Clannaborough Church

We spotted the tower pinnacles of Clannaborough Church peaking over the top of a hill while out walking Stage 6b of the Two Moors Way with our local walking group today.  An amusing day that started with one group having to go home to pick up another car as we didn't have sufficient cars to people for both ends of the route.  Nevertheless we started walking around 11.00am and the cloudy day soon turned turned into a very bright sunny one.  We caught glimpses of Dartmoor that we had by now left behind us, (see extra) as we wandered along small lanes, open green fields and along fortunately not too many overgrown pathways strewn with stinging nettles and thistles.  Clannaborough Church is 16th Century but was apparently over restored in the mid 1800's.

A good days walking of around 8 miles.  We are now over halfway through our walk from Wembury on the south coast to Lynmouth on the north coast of Devon.
