Bus Challenge No 93!!

Devizes Market Place

A decent night’s sleep at last, and a sunny day, so jumped on a bus into Bath where I met my Bus Challenge friend to take a second bus and head east, through rolling hills and leafy lanes to the charming historic market town of Devizes, at the very heart of Wiltshire.

First stop was the Wadworth Brewery to visit their gentle giant Shire horses, two of the very few remaining 'working' Shires in the brewing industry in Britain, who still make daily deliveries from the brewery to pubs around Devizes. Next it was on to the town wharf on the Kennet and Avon Canal, to find a sunny spot for a picnic lunch and watch the canal boats go by, before following a town trail back to the market place where the market really was bustling, and where I filled my bag with local treats: cheese, black pudding, shortbread, and a Chocolate Peppermint herb that filled the bus with its lovely scent all the way home!!
