The Lundy Eye

Up the creek...with a paddle

This is the world's last sea-going paddle steamer Waverley at Largs pier, looking as though it was berthed there for the night. As a boy I remember watching loads of handsome vesslsl like this carrying day-trippers all over the Firth of Clyde. Now only the Waverley remains and most of the others have gone the way of the breaker's yard.
It was nice to see so many boats in this pic - a yacht, a car ferry heading back from Cumbrae, another ferry berthed at the pier, and a small fishing boat.
