No room on the log

The pond water is so high that the log that can usually take a dozen birds roosting is now almost under water - so there's plenty of competition, with birds trying to get on while pushing others off. These are NZ scaup and grey teal. It seemed to be the scaup causing the trouble.

Poor France, poor people of Nice, what can possibly be achieved by killing random men, women, and particularly children. Hearts go out to the families whose lives have been taken, or destroyed by losing someone loved. Deepest sympathy.
