Peking to Paris Classic Car Endurance Rally

Last night St Moritz, hosted the cars and participants in the Peking to Paris car rally. The cars were just amazing varying from fourteen litre pre-war Bentleys, enormous old Cadillacs, to an original mini (the driver was well over six foot in height) and all fairly battered after the long drive through China, Russia, Mongolia and all points westward. They drive every day with very few rest days and the journey takes its toll on both cars and drivers; extensive repairs have to undertaken en-route or overnight. SwissPiper's cousin was taking part in his pre-war Volvo so we went along to the rally hotel for a drink and a look at the cars. They are off to Lausanne today and then Rheims and the end in Paris on Sunday. Well done to all concerned. Bon Voyage.
