Cumbria Here I Come

Catching up

Went to Pooley Bridge today to meet up with old friends who I haven't seen for about five years.  It was great to see them and to finally get to meet their three year old red merle collie called Mollie.  She's a real beauty and very petite.  They all liked Misty who of course lapped up all the attention.  We had a pub lunch and the two dogs were very well behaved.

We all got quite a shock when Mollie who was lying under the table got attacked by a small dog (who had just arrived) with a very bad attitude giving her a badly scratched and bleeding nose.   Poor Mollie who didn't retaliate was shaking like a leaf at this unprovoked attack.   J went to talk to the owners about what their dog had done just as they were finishing putting a muzzle on the dog!!  They were very apologetic, shame they didn't put the muzzle on beforehand.   Anyhow Mollie stopped shaking after a few minutes and when we finished lunch we went for a short walk by Ullswater in the drizzle where both dogs enjoyed some playtime in the lake.

Walking back to the car we saw the horrible little dog again and it was minus the muzzle.  Unbelievable!

Its official, the Lake District is the country's no. 1 walking destination :) woo hoo!
