Life in Newburgh on Ythan

The Bent Dog

The second in my occasional series of good names for a pub. Today, the Bent Dog.

This skull, which I have blipped before, once belonged to a very large dog. I found, it some years ago, among the shells of an old shell midden which is probably Pictish in age. Only recently have I noticed that it has a badly bent muzzle. My imagination being what it is I have a vision of it as a puppy running at full speed into one of the wooden posts in an Iron Age hut.

Anyway, another candidate for a Public House sign.
