Owner of The Golden Rule ship

Saturday R and I, upon getting notified of the event by fellow blipper Kendall, went to hear a program at Ground Zero about The Golden Rule Vererans for Peace ship.  It was held at the Waterfront Community Center on Bainbridge Island, Wa.
We rode the ferry over and heard some speakers and singers before we went down to see the ship which was docked along the Bainbridge waterfront.  We first all brainstormed coming up with some ideas to help bring about nuclear disarmament and work toward peace.  Education of our youth and general population about the dangers of nuclear proliferation and support for PEACE candidates were mentioned as well as support for The Golden Rule and Veterans for Peace.
I was thrilled to see this ship so close up and to meet the owner and also then the Captain of this ship.  Entertainment by the Raging Grannies and a couple other Peace singers was provided and group singing.  It now seems, however, that R and I were probably two of the youngest there...mostly it seems the anti nuclear and peace groups are composed of ones in their very late sixties and 70's and 80's....More education direly needed to keep the young involved in reaching a world free of nuclear weapons.
Extra shots include an image of the ship itself,  a collage with the Raging Grannies, a peace singer, man in a verterans for peace tee shirt, the golden rule head board from the ship, and a Buddist monk who was there.   Verterans For Peace Mission statement here

Thank you Kendall for alerting us to their arrival so nearby!

Late nite addition...three police officers killed in Baton Rouge....not a peaceful day there and very sad for them and their loved ones....
