Birthday Girl

Poppy is 11 today. She set her alarm for 6am , woke up her brother and came and sat on our bed to open all her cards and presents.
It's been an absolute scorcher today. We went out to Nandos for Poppy's birthday tea which was like eating chilies in a sauna. Poor old D had sweat running down his face a bit like the 'sweaty pilot' scene in Airplane.
Despite being showered with expensive gifts, Poppy still wasn't happy when I asked to take her photo on the way home. She wouldn't smile for me so you get a slightly petulant Poppy portrait.*
I had to use D's camera as I forgot my own.
