Nature's treasures

A pink ipê tree is blossoming magnificently in the next street over – an unexpected sight in such a barren-looking stretch of road. There was too much backlight for a good shot of the tree, so I concentrated on the flowers on the ground. And on the way back from a walk, found a tiny bright green bug (extra photo).
 
Lots to do to get the house ready for our Olympic visitors, and I keep forgetting I need to start on a biggish translation. HH is vaguely trying to sort out his office. Not entirely surprisingly, we decided against going to Scottish dancing this evening.
