A thistle

Not any old thistle, but one growing in my garden. It has about 50 flower heads waiting to burst open and looks quite architectural with it's silver foliage. My entry for this week's tiny Tuesday, hosted by Walking Wombat.
Another hot day so a late foray down to the beach but the waves were rough today, presumably as it's a full moon tonight or just because the tide was turning. It didn't stop a lot of families going in for a dip but I declined today.
